Here we go.

OK, so this is where we begin in earnest to try to keep in communication with you.  This is our last night in Spokane.  We leave tomorrow at O'Dark. 

 

A little bit of background.  This is who we are, and why we are doing this.  Toby and I organize Olympic Sporting events.  We live here in Spokane, and are currently organizing the 2007 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships which will be in Spokane January 21-28, 2007. 

 

We leave tomorrow for Torino, and will be there through the Closing Ceremonies.  Part work, part fun.  We promised some of the media that we would keep a blog for them of our travels and adventures.  We have never blogged before, so please don't be too critical. 

 

Toby has been to seven Olympic Games:  Los Angeles, Seoul, Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Salt Lake, and now Torino.  Barb has been to five:  Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, Salt Lake, and Torino.  There is nothing like the Olympics.  It is a thousand stories, tons of dreams and emotions, and always the new most unlikely hero. 

 

Our goal is to familiarize many of you with the athletes that will be here in Spokane in just eleven month.  Here's a quick quiz. Besides Michelle Kwan name me six figure skaters.  Tough huh?  Well hopefully by the time we return a few of you will pass that test. 

 

We will be out of communication for a full day as we travel.  We arrive in Torino at 10:30 am on Thursday.  We will try to give an update as soon as we can after we land.
